Seasons

Michigan is having crazy weather, again. Don’t get me wrong, I like my home state. The fall colors are so beautiful, and the weather is unpredictable. That is also a bad thing. Unless you have been praying for a cold day or two (or three), you are probably realizing that summer is almost over. This means autumn is almost here. Autumn is one of the best months, it is one of my favorites. I love fall. It is so pleasant. Donuts, cider, colors, weather that is cool but not cold, easy money, etc…FalI means that you can pull out all of your favorite school clothes that you haven’t worn in months. My allergies also don’t seem too bad during this time. I even get to start wearing my boots. I love leather boots. I wear them all the time during the school year.

Unfortunately, fall doesn’t last long enough. Even though the first day of winter is not until mid/late December, it can (and will) start snowing well before then. The fall colors are gone, and we are left with winter. I don’t know about you, but during the long winter months, it can be almost Hell on Earth (not literally, since Hell is actually unfathomable). Everyone is constantly getting sick, and it can be so cold! One of the most annoying things ever is when your ears get so cold that they hurt. That has happened to me one too many times (ouch!).

I did some research awhile back on a miracle medicine, if you will. It is called Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV). I started drinking it in June, and did not get sick almost the entire summer (usually the summer months mean a time when I really don’t get sick, which makes sense because everyone is outside and getting natural vitamin D, which is a possible explanation for why you don’t get sick hardly at all during the summer). At first, it tasted terrible. I will cover ACV in its own blog post. I am so scared of getting sick. If you want to know one of my irrational phobias, it is sickness. I freak out so bad. When someone is ill, I go crazy. I am that weirdo who takes vitamins on their own. Let’s just say the school year is not all “happiness.” If sickness did not exist, the school year would be pretty pleasant.

Although my teachers demand a ton from me, I do actually learn a lot from them. So far, I have found that every class I have taken at a co-op in high school has had its benefits. Besides, I can still wear leather boots during this season. Christmas also exists, which is nice. My birthday is also during winter…

But, of course Spring has to come along. Spring is when tree pollen decides to appear. That is when some people almost die. Spring is also not warm enough quickly enough. But, there are flowers! And baby animals! It does get kind of warm, too…

Then, summer comes along. Swimming, camps, no school…but then it ends, and we are back to where we started. Question: What is your favorite season and why? Can you think of any more pros/cons of each season that I did not cover? Do you agree with my claims, or do you disagree? If so, why?

Ecclesiastes 3: 1-8:

There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens:

a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.
